Dan Hardy (19-6 MMA, 0-0 UFC), one of the United Kingdom's top welterweight fighters, has signed with the UFC, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The signing further bolsters the UFC's talent-laden 170-pound division, which is reigned by champ Georges St. Pierre.

Hardy, a veteran of the U.K.-based Cage Warriors (where he is the organization's welterweight champ) and Cage Force, brings with him a three-fight win streak and eight victories in his past nine fights.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has confirmed that Hardy, a Team Rough House member, signed a four-fight deal.

"It means everything to finally be at the pinnacle of mixed martial arts," Hardy told UFC.com. "Even kids who have never taken a martial arts class in their life dream about fighting in the UFC -- it is the premier league of MMA, and there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I cannot wait to step into the octagon and showcase myself on the biggest stage in MMA."

Hardy is expected to make his UFC debut this fall.
