--With the Montreal Canadiens playing on Saturday night against the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup, no matter what is said, the UFC show at best can be No. 2 in the city's sports news. The fight is probably bigger tomorrow night in Toronto, which has a far higher overall interest level in UFC (even though it's still banned in the province) and it's the No. 1 sports event in that city. Ken Hayashi, who heads the Ontario commission, has been invited to the UFC by Marc Ratner but no word on whether he has accepted the invitation. He's the main hold-out. Depending on the timing, if everything goes right and it's approved before interest levels wane, they'd be well-served to book Skydome instead of the ACC for a first show. The bigger crowd is more impressive to the world media, even though the real big money is in PPV and 50,000 people at an event is both more lucrative and is great for perception levels as being a cool thing.
--The only UFC programming next week on Spike is Unleashed on Wednesday at 9 p.m. , which will have the second Anderson Silva vs. Rich Franklin match plus Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping and Ultimate Fighter at 10 p.m.

--Poll on Ultimate Fighter for Wednesday night
Excellent 16.9%
Good 53.0%
Average 18.1%
Fair 3.6%
Poor 8.4%
54.6% of those responding didn't see the show
--The IFL returns to most Fox Sports Net affiliates in a Saturday night at midnight time slot starting tomorrow night. They will be airing matches from last November's show in Chicago including Chris Horodecki vs. Bart Palaszewski, Wagnney Fabiano vs. John Gunderson, Benji Radach vs. Brent Beauparlant and Matt Horwich vs. Brian Foster

--The Canadian Press at www.globesports.com/ has a story on NHL brawlers talking about UFC fighters. Enforcer Georges Laraque said even the worst UFC fighter would beat him due to conditioning and he said he was a big fan and friend of Georges St. Pierre. It said Milan Lucic of the Bruins is also a big St. Pierre fan. Interestingly, the story said few members of the home town Montreal Canadians have much interest in UFC. It said onjhly Josh Georges follows it closely.
